The Podium Lounge has partnered with Vitisasia, Asia’s premier wine and gastronomy experience provider, to launch the inaugural 3 Michelin Star Race Dinner Series over the Grand Prix Weekend.
For the first time ever in Singapore Quique Dacosta, of his eponymous 3 Michelin starred restaurant in Spain, will be designing and cooking 2 exceptional dinners on Friday 19 & Saturday 20 September. Quique Dacosta is one of the leaders of avant-garde cuisine in Europe. Dishes prepared by Quique Dacosta will be beautifully matched with:
- On September 19th, 2014: wines from Castell d’Encus, one of the most original vineyards in Spain and considered one of the top domains in Cataluña. The winery produces small quantities at high altitudes averaging 950m in the Spanish Pyrenees. Wines are fermented in stone and the winery uses 11th century wine-making techniques. Thanks to the passion and great skills of Raul Bobet, their wine maker and ex-oenologist at Torres, Castell d’Encus wines are highly rated every year by wine experts, such as Robert Parker Jr., and are listed in many Michelin starred restaurants in Spain and around the world.
- On September 20th, 2014: wines from the world famous Château Margaux, one of only four wines to achieve Premier Cru status in the Bordeaux Classification 1855. The winery is located on the left bank of the Gironde estuary in southwestern France. Under the ownership of Corinne Mentzelopoulos and astute direction of Paul Pontallier whose son, Thibault Pontallier, will be presenting the wines at the dinner as the Château Margaux Ambassador for Asia, Château Margaux is the fruit of decades of experience in making one of the most sought-after red wine in the world.
The dinners will be held within The Podium Lounge venue at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore – The Grand Ballroom, Level 1., Level 1. Dinner guests will have full access to the exclusive Podium Lounge event, now in it’s 6th successful year in Singapore.
The evening will include a welcome by Freddie Hunt, son of 1976 Formula 1 World Champion James Hunt whose story was so vividly told in the acclaimed movie, Rush. Freddie will be saying a few words about his return to professional motor racing (The Hunt for Le Mans) and his father.

About Quique Dacosta:
Quique Dacosta has been working as a professional chef since 1986. He started working in a pizzeria at the age of 14 and quickly adopted a love for French cook books which showcased avant-garde culinary lines. The idea that food goes beyond mere feeding began to take root.
In 1988 he joined what later became his own restaurant, El Poblet (today renamed Quique Dacosta Restaurant). In its early stages, El Poblet offered Castilian cuisine, which later developed into a more local, maritime Alicantenean-Valencian gastronomy. Styles were mixed, and Quique Dacosta became the pioneer of the new Valencian cuisine from the late 80s-early 90s.
Quique Dacosta’s is a cuisine updated with novel techniques: his goal is to lighten the culinary experience and to refine cooking times. The Mediterranean Sea and the Montgó Natural Park have bothinspired his culinary style, with their inexhaustible supply of seafood and of the abundant resources grown in the diverse ecosystem. This is simply an unlimited source of fresh and natural ingredients.
Placed among the best ten chefs in the world and the best three chefs in Spain, Quique Dacosta’s cuisine is reported to be the second most important cuisine in the country, and the fifth in the world. Food & Wine Magazine have placed Quique Dacosta Restaurant among the world’s top ten.
Quique Dacosta is recognized world-wide for the artistic expression of his cuisine and for proudly holding the flag of his homeland and culture; he personifies excellence and distinction, innovation and tradition, while promoting the Valencian Community through culture and modernity.
In 2013, Quique Dacosta was awarded his third Michelin star. He is placed number 26 in The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2013, the list produced by the prestigious magazine, The Restaurant. In addition, Quique Dacosta’s restaurant has been elected for two years in a row Best Restaurant in Europe by Opinionated About Dining and the famous critic Steve Plotnicki.
